About Intergrid

Heat and steam are used in almost every industry for various purposes in various temperatures. Today, most of this heat is still produced by burning fossil fuels, making industrial heat production one of the largest emission sources accounting for >30% of all European CO2 emissions.

At Intergrid, we are on a mission to make electrification and optimization of industrial energy use as easy and economical as possible. As industrials electrify and get exposed to the complex and volatile power markets, operating varying electric-hybrid systems with energy storages effectively exceeds human capabilities.

Intergrid’s full-stack AI autopilot combines proprietary data and control layers with real-time decision-making to optimize industrial heat and steam production and power trading 24/7, safely and reliably.

In two years, we’ve grown exceptionally fast from three founders with an ambitious vision (and an office in Olli’s living room) to an amazing diverse team of >30 people from different nationalities and a wide range of satisfied customers across multiple industries. Today, more than 70 industrial sites already rely on our services – and the pace is only accelerating.

To accelerate our growth, we have also secured >10M€ in funding from top-tier US and Finnish investors such as True Ventures, Lifeline Ventures, Risto Siilasmaa, and the founders of Aiven. This allows us to continue expanding the team on all fronts with top talent passionate about tackling complex challenges and driven by curiosity and kindness.

About the role

We are entering a new stage in scaling our business and impact in Europe, and are looking for a full-time General Manager to lead our expansion in Denmark!

This is a rare opportunity to be the local entrepreneurial owner with the backing of an established team in Helsinki. You'll take full ownership of establishing Intergrid's position in Denmark - building partnerships, winning customers, designing our operating model, and eventually hiring a team to drive continued growth. You'll work closely with our cross-functional teams in Helsinki while having direct influence on how we expand across Denmark and the rest of Europe.

This role is ideal for you if you're passionate about building things from scratch, developing partnerships, and ensuring every customer receives an exceptional experience in a new market - while being ready to roll up your sleeves and get scrappy when needed. You'll have real autonomy and report directly to our CEO, and have a direct role in shaping Intergrid's future.

Key responsibilities

• Own growth and operations for Intergrid in Denmark, building partnerships, customer relationships, and processes from the ground up
• Ensure we deliver on our promise of being the partner of choice for all Danish customers, regardless of size or segment
• Develop the expansion playbook in collaboration with our Growth, Operations, Engineering, and Analytics teams in Helsinki
• Identify product, business model, and market opportunities specific to Denmark
• Manage relationships and negotiate strategic partnerships
• Hire and lead your team as we scale
• Serve as the voice of Denmark within Intergrid, influencing product development, strategic direction, and company culture

In-depth interview with the CEO (60 min) 
In-depth discussion about the role, potential fit by focusing on role-specific competencies.

Case assignment and presentation (120 min)
To make the most of this stage, you’ll need dedicated preparation time beforehand. The case is substantial by design; it gives you a real feel for the role, and gives us insight into what you could bring to the table. You are more than welcome to visit our office for the presentation.

Live founder meetup (90 min)
Meet all our founders and dive into our strategy, culture, and future. Ask all your toughest questions at our HQ in Helsinki.

‘Work with us’ afternoon (4 hours)
We invite you to meet our team over lunch and experience our daily work for a couple of hours to ensure our ways of working align with your aspirations. It is a significant commitment on both sides; thus we only move to this stage if we really want to work with you. It’s designed to help both sides make the right decision, especially giving you a transparent opportunity to decide on a new career chapter. You will receive compensation for this.
